I had big hopes for Frontlines when I first played the demo early this year, I thought it would be an open world FPS set in the future in the midst of an oil crisis. Most of that is true, but it isn't an open world game at all. The missions are rather static and play relatively the same every time. The AI isn't smart, that includes your team.
One example of the AI being very dumb is in the mission where you run a tank through a gauntlet of enemy tanks and tactical nukes up to a nuclear missile launching facility. The tanks rarely move, and they're easy to snipe. Upon reaching the out posts before the launch facility you face a small resistance of weak fighters who would rather stand there and die than actually try to kill you.
The story is rated so high because it's so realistic. The events in this could definatly occur sometime in the near future, which is a very scary thought.
Fun and replay are low because once you play it once, there really isn't a need to keep replaying it over and over again except for the convenient achievements, those being the Ironman and the Stopwatch achievements. You could potentially get 3 20GS achievements for each level, which means big GS if you can stand playing through the game 3 times..
