Way lacking in the story area, but overall it's a very fun game. As with any of the battlefield series, you get the feeling you're just an ordinary grunt in the midst of this battle, you know who you're fighting and what the objectives are but you don't know why. Much better than the 1942 series in my opinion, the graphics were a huge step up as were the AI (for the most part).

I could never play online though, so I can't say how fun the game was when you weren't playing mindless computer drones.
