I can't express to you how much I am endeared to this game, it's ridiculous. I first played it just after it came out, and since I had never played anything like it before I was blown away. Well, that's not true. For years I've played a little known Bungie Studio's game by the name of Myth (The Fallen Lords, and Soulblighter if you're in the know) that was a similar RTS to C&C, but the fact you could build units and buildings was awesome.
The game play is insanely addictive, as with the rest of the C&C series (except Renegade), and offers endless hours of fun no matter if you're winning or losing.
Srsly, if you haven't played this game yet YOU MUST DO IT NOW.
I'd rate it higher, but to be honest the sound was too repetitive and the controls were not my thing. Everything else was great!

Personaly I enjoyed the concept behind the control scheme, have all your building options in one side bar really makes thinks go smoother, not to mention being able to start construction where ever you are on the map. It's a fantastic idea that eases gameplay, however the mouse control was a little difficult getting used to given the standard mouse controls in the Blizzard RTS'. (Which I'm sure I don't have to tell you how popular they are...)

I never played any Blizzard games (except Starcraft once..).
It was neat, but I was used to a different interface when I was first introduced to the game, and that first impression stuck with me.
