This game, to me, has always been nothing more than a World War 2 mod for CoD4. There were some additions in terms of content to the game, but the game itself didn't add anything to the series. If anything, it took the whole series a step backwards to the era where every studio and their grandmother's were producing a WW2 shooter. These types of games are not inherently bad as they expose a generation that has never seen real war to the ups and downs of mortal combat, but we've seen it all before.

The good points:

Graphics were good, but they weren't new or exciting. CoD has always had good graphics for it's day, no matter what game in the series you're looking at. Sound was great I'll admit, and the same deal with the control scheme (you don't mess with what works!). The story was.. eh, passable. The plot wasn't unique, nor were the characters. It was somewhat predictable too, but thankfully not through and through; the part where you have to save your Sergeant being it's only saving grace. Replay is also good, but still not great. Why replay the game you've been playing for 10 years already?

The bad points:

Nothing new, nothing to say "wow that was worth $60", nothing original. But hey, it's based on a real war, I guess you can't have proper originality on games that are intended to be based on history right? But that's a failing of the genre, not of the game.

Overall, it's worth the money to buy. I would probably wait for a few months until the price drops considerably if you are in the market for a new game, but it's not the worst thing you could spend your money on. I got my copy as a Christmas gift, so I can't complain too much for owning it. :P
